Veterinary Practice Manager – Privately Owned Small Animal Hospital Companion Pet Care (CPC) in Encinitas, California Help lead a team that puts pets first. POSITION DETAILS Location: Encinitas, California Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Employment type: Full-time, on-site Experience: At least 2 years of management experience Credential: RVT preferred, but not required Salary range: $65,000–$85,000 annually WHAT OUR HOSPITAL MANAGER DOES Hospital Operations Oversee daily hospital workflows, staffing, and scheduling. Maintain policies, procedures, and operational standards. Coordinate vendors, equipment, and facility needs. Team Leadership and Human Resources Recruit, onboard, and support the training of team members. Conduct employee evaluations and help develop staff. Foster a respectful, collaborative workplace focused on excellent patient and client care. Financial and Administrative Management Oversee payroll and timekeeping. Monitor revenue, expenses, accounts receivable, collections, and key performance indicators. Review financial and operational results with the hospital owner. Inventory and Compliance Oversee inventory controls and purchasing. Maintain controlled-substance procedures, safety practices, and required compliance documentation. Delegate routine inventory tasks while maintaining appropriate oversight. Client Service and Continuous Improvement Help resolve escalated client concerns. Support personalized service for every client and patient. Identify opportunities to improve hospital operations so the medical team can focus on delivering thoughtful care to every animal. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR At least 2 years of management experience; veterinary or healthcare management experience is preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with staff management, payroll, financial reports, and administrative systems. A proactive, dependable approach to leadership and daily operations. A commitment to creating a supportive workplace where patient care and client relationships come first. An RVT credential is a plus, as are experience with veterinary practice management software and technology troubleshooting.
