POSITION OVERVIEW:

Driven by Dobbs, our family of brands brings together Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers—founded in 1976 in South St. Louis, MO as a family-owned complete auto care provider—and Conrad’s Tire Express & Total Car Care, founded in 1969 in Cleveland, OH. Together, we have grown into a rapidly expanding, multi-market automotive service organization that will operate across eight states in 2026, with continued growth on the horizon. We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative to develop new wholesale customer relationships, strengthen existing accounts, and grow sales by connecting customers with the right tire products, programs, services, and business support. This role combines field sales, account development, product education, and responsive customer service to help both our customers and the business succeed.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop a pipeline of prospective wholesale customers through internally generated leads, field activity, and consistent follow-up.
• Build and maintain productive customer relationships that support account retention, sales growth, and long-term partnership.
• Present relevant products, programs, services, and value-added benefits to existing and prospective customers.
• Support customer business growth through product education, sales-skill training, coaching, and practical recommendations.
• Maintain current knowledge of tire product lines, services, pricing structures, programs, and delivery schedules.
• Work within established pricing, program, and delivery guidelines while identifying solutions that meet customer needs.
• Plan field and administrative time effectively to maximize customer contact, account coverage, and sales results.
• Partner with location personnel, Sales leadership, branch management, business unit leaders, and vendors to resolve customer needs.
• Perform other responsibilities necessary to support customers and the business as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This position works across customer locations, a wholesale tire distribution center, office areas, and other field-sales environments.
• The role may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, elevated areas, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather, and moderate noise.
• The position regularly uses a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment and requires frequent communication by phone and in person.
• The schedule may include extended hours, Saturdays, occasional Sundays or evenings, and meetings outside normal business hours.
• The position may occasionally require standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing 28 stairs, and moving tires, parts, or displays weighing up to 50 pounds.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Three years of sales and customer service knowledge and/or experience required.
• Six months to one year of computer knowledge and/or experience required.
• Two to three years of tire, operations management, and marketing knowledge and/or experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record in accordance with Company policy required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before customers or employee groups.
• Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and apply practical reasoning to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
