Company Description Oakmont of Fullerton Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cook role located in Fullerton, CA. The Cook will prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines, ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards. Daily responsibilities include food prep, safe operation of kitchen equipment, accurate portioning, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food service areas. The Cook will assist with receiving and storing supplies, monitoring inventory, and following food safety and infection control procedures. The role also involves coordinating with dining staff, responding to resident or patient meal requests when appropriate, and supporting a positive, respectful dining experience. Qualifications Culinary skills including basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and familiarity with standardized recipes. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper handling and storage of ingredients. Ability to follow menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets and portion control. Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with kitchen and dining teams. Previous experience as a cook or in food service, preferably in healthcare or senior living, is beneficial. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a warm kitchen environment.
