Research Associate, Cell Culture

Position Details We are currently seeking a Sr. Research Associate (MS) or Research Associate (BS) with strong cell culture experience to join our Gametocyte Production group. The selected candidate must be available to work on weekends. The weekly schedule for this position is Saturday‑Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday off. Responsibilities The Research Associate will be involved in many aspects of Sanaria’s vaccine research and cGMP manufacturing process. Ability to work on the maintenance of malaria parasite cultures and multiple simultaneous tasks is essential. The RA will participate in research projects targeted to efficiency and scaling up. Qualifications Qualified candidates must have a MS or BS in biology, biotechnology, microbiology, or a related discipline with 3 or more years of relevant laboratory experience. Excellent communication skills, writing, teamwork, organization and the willingness to learn new experimental techniques are required. The incumbent will have the opportunity to write technical reports, revise or write up new protocols and perform and document quantitative analyses. Experience with sterile technique, microscopy and cell culture is highly desirable. Experience in cGMP manufacturing is a plus. The candidate must be eligible to work for the long term in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Sanaria is not able to sponsor visas for this position.
