Summary

Based in the Genitourinary (Urology) Department , this primarily Outpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) , supports department Surgical Oncologists/Urology , and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

Position Highlights

• Assists physicians with the evaluation, management, and treatment of a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures, and co-morbidities.
• Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).
• Will assist in managing GU Surgical patients in collaboration with the Attending in shared clinics as well as in Independent Clinics.
• Will see post-operative patients as well as established patients on surveillance independently.
• Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm (will work five, eight-hour days during the introductory period and then be able to transition to four, ten-hour days, with a predefined off day during the week, after successful completion and orientation to role).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Credentials and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS; active ACLS in addition is a plus. (must be AHA approved)
• Experience in oncology or general internal medicine or urology; experience specific to the specialty (Urologic Oncology/General Urology) preferred.

Salary Range

$131,892.80 - $201,052.80

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
