Physical Therapist; Rehab Therapy Staff

Responsibilities Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 2 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital‑based department. In this role, you will provide evidence‑based, compassionate physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals to perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and deliver skilled interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, functional independence, and quality of life. As a Physical Therapist 2, you will function as an experienced clinician, managing a caseload with moderate to high complexity and serving as a resource for Physical Therapist 1 staff, assistants, and students. Responsibilities include conducting detailed patient assessments, interpreting medical histories, setting measurable functional goals, and implementing interventions such as: Therapeutic exercise Gait and balance training Neuromuscular reeducation Functional mobility training Manual therapy Patient and family education You will document all care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record, complying with state and federal regulations, payer requirements, and Methodist Health System policies. You will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and care coordination, providing recommendations for durable medical equipment, post‑acute services, and home exercise programs to support safe transitions of care. The role also involves mentoring newer therapists and students, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and helping to refine clinical pathways and best practices in line with current research and professional guidelines. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a self‑directed clinician who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced hospital environment, managing a full caseload, prioritizing competing demands, and adapting treatment plans as patients’ conditions change. Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and patient‑education skills are essential.
