Unlike existing coding tools that primarily solve SWE problems, our agents do practical research—looking at plots, coordinating many other research agents, and drawing open-ended conclusions. This means people who are “spiky,” with a deep well of technical knowledge and unusually strong technical opinions. In particular, we want someone who has experience building the cloud side of a startup: not just someone who can deploy things, but someone who understands infrastructure tradeoffs, reliability, and scaling better than the rest of us combined. If you enjoy debugging weird production issues, we most likely want to hire you. You Should Care Deeply About Building clean, reliable, maintainable infrastructure Shipping quickly while keeping high operational quality (even with AI-assisted coding) Consistent style and organization (you have taste in systems, not just code) Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes/Terraform, GCP/AWS/Azure, and/or designing deployment + observability for startup teams; having started your own company or built something interesting that was deployed to 10K-1M+ users; having all of the relevant CLI commands memorized; using Linux as your personal OS. But we need more people — building a product that can replace the default research workflow is extremely hard. In order to make it stable and work at 99.9% reliability across the high stakes applications that we're selling to, we need someone with strong experience in building and maintaining infrastructure. This applies to both our existing local/cluster offering and deploying it to the cloud (something that will help us serve individual users at scale). This is a high-autonomy company. We want people who have strong opinions and execute on them, and we trust the people we're working with to know more about the things that they're building than we do.
