Job Summary:
This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
This role will support AH-64D, UH-60M and CH-47F rotary aircraft.

Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts
Requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair
Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory
Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
This job requires working knowledge of technical publications
The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records
Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and servicing on assigned aircraft and related systems (e.g., airframe, powerplant, propeller/rotor, hydraulics, flight controls, environmental, avionics support tasks within qualification).
Remove, install, repair, and replace major and minor aircraft assemblies and subassemblies (e.g., wings, control surfaces, landing gear, engines, panels, doors, etc.) in accordance with technical data and established procedures.
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, test equipment, and maintenance practices to identify and correct discrepancies.
Perform rigging, alignment, functional checks, and operational tests of systems and components as required.
Document all maintenance actions using appropriate maintenance information systems (e.g., aircraft logbooks, electronic maintenance systems, forms) in accordance with contract, regulatory, and company policies.
Comply with all applicable maintenance instructions, technical orders (TOs), maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering changes, airworthiness directives, and local work cards.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FAA (if applicable), military, OEM, and V2X quality, safety, and security standards.
Assist in the training and guidance of Aircraft Mechanic I personnel and helpers, providing technical direction as needed.
Support aircraft launch and recovery, including preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections; perform servicing of oil, fuel, oxygen, and other fluids as required.
Operate ground support equipment (GSE) and towing/handling equipment (e.g., tugs, towbars, jacks, stands) in support of aircraft movement and maintenance.
Adhere to site and program safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), tool control, FOD prevention, and hazardous material handling.
Participate in quality audits, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract, mission, or operational requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal aviation maintenance training from an accredited military, FAA, or industry program (e.g., A&P school, military technical school) preferred
Must be able to read, interpret, and apply technical data such as maintenance manuals, technical orders, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic maintenance information systems and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance and access, Secret DoD Clearance preferred, NACI required
Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain any required flightline or airfield driver permits
OEM or platform-specific training and certifications desired
Current certifications in required training such as OSHA, fall protection, confined space, respirator use, and/or HAZMAT handling may be required or provided post-hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, inspection criteria, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with military aviation maintenance environments, policies, and technical orders is highly desirable.
Ability to work from ladders, stands, and platforms and to access confined areas of the aircraft.
Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a high-tempo, mission-focused environment.
Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and customer representatives.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds routinely and heavier weights with assistance.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
Work may be performed on flightlines, in hangars, and in shop environments, often exposed to noise, fumes, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as mission requirements dictate.
Ability to wear appropriate PPE including hearing protection, eye protection, and respirators when required.
