Veterinarian

Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary

We are seeking a mission-driven Veterinarian to join our high-volume, fast-paced clinic dedicated to making veterinary care accessible to all. This is not a typical general practice role. Our work centers on impact—serving underserved communities, reducing pet overpopulation, and improving animal welfare at scale. If you are energized by purpose, efficiency, and tangible community good, this role offers a uniquely meaningful career path. About Us: We are a nonprofit animal rescue and affordable veterinary clinic operating under a 501(c)(3) model. Our focus is simple but powerful: provide high-quality, low-cost veterinary services to as many animals as possible while supporting rescue efforts. Every procedure, every appointment, and every long day contributes directly to saving lives and keeping pets with the families who love them. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment Deliver compassionate care while maintaining productivity targets necessary for a high-volume model Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes Educate pet owners on preventive care within the context of accessible, budget-conscious medicine Support rescue operations, including intake exams and medical treatment for rescued animals What Makes This Role Different: High Volume, High Impact: You will treat significantly more patients per day than in a traditional clinic, directly increasing access to care for underserved populations Mission Over Margin: Unlike general practice settings focused on revenue per client, our priority is maximizing community impact and animal lives saved Streamlined Care Model: We emphasize efficiency, practical medicine, and doing the most good with available resources Purpose-Driven Work: Every decision is guided by our nonprofit mission, not profit goals Ideal Candidate: Licensed Veterinarian (DVM or equivalent) in good standing Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, or willing to learn. Passionate about animal welfare, access to care, and nonprofit work Adaptable, team-oriented, and resilient under pressure Committed to balancing efficiency with compassionate care What We Offer: Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) Opportunity to make a measurable difference in animal welfare every day Supportive, mission-aligned team environment Professional growth in high-volume medicine and shelter/rescue care A career that prioritizes purpose, not just practice Why This Work Matters: In a traditional veterinary setting, care is often limited by cost barriers and lower patient volume. Here, your skills reach further. You will help families keep their pets, reduce unnecessary euthanasia, and directly combat the pet overpopulation crisis. This is veterinary medicine at scale—where efficiency meets compassion and every moment contributes to a greater good. If you’re ready to practice veterinary medicine in a way that prioritizes impact, access, and community, we encourage you to apply. Additional Note: We are committed to building a team that shares our mission and long-term vision. While experience is valuable, we are absolutely willing to train, mentor, and grow alongside the right candidate. If you bring dedication, compassion, and a genuine commitment to improving access to veterinary care, we will invest in your development. At the end of the day, what matters most is that we are aligned in our goals—doing the greatest good for the animals and communities we serve. If that shared purpose is there, we are ready to support you in becoming an exceptional high-volume veterinarian. Benefits: Flexible schedule Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $80 - $120 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
