Description
- Administer evaluations to patients spanning the pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a mix of standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans that effectively address both immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to cultivate seamless care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and their families to enhance progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuous care throughout the patient's journey.
- Keep precise and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the discipline through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA has not yet been attained.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
