The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview Sonographers provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The sonographer is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic services. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited school of sonography Preferred: Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or registry eligible Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions) Per Diem Evening Essential Functions Prepares and sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary. Prepares exam rooms before patient enters and cleans rooms following patient exit. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table and instructing them in the procedure that is being performed. Selects and records appropriate images for the permanent record. Is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. Is prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic services.
