Accounts Payable Bookkeeper

CR Fletcher is seeking an Accounts Payable Bookkeeper for a client company in the Syracuse area. This role performs a variety of accounting and administrative duties, including invoice processing, payment preparation, vendor maintenance, and financial recordkeeping.


Job Summary/Responsibilities:

• Process weekly accounts payable for multiple entities, including invoice entry, check preparation, and payment distribution.
• Review purchase orders, coordinate approvals, and communicate approval decisions.
• Maintain vendor records, process updates, and establish new vendor accounts and payment terms.
• Request and collect W-9 forms and prepare annual 1099 forms.
• Maintain daily cash logs, process bank deposits, and record manual payments.
• Prepare and maintain accounts payable spreadsheets and monthly corporate credit card logs.
• Respond to vendor and departmental inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
• Compile wage information for workers' compensation and pension reporting.
• Distribute incoming mail and answer incoming phone calls.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Team and assist with additional accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree, preferably in Accounting.
• Minimum of five years of related accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with MAS 200 preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
