Apex Therapeutic Services is a primary provider of Related Services to hundreds of schools in the New York City Department of Education. We provide Occupational Therapists to schools across the 5 boroughs of New York City. For more specific caseload information please apply and our team will contact you right away for the 2023-2024 school year.

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist: School Setting-NYC DOE, Charter Schools, Public Schools 

• Position will oversee full/partial caseloads. 
• Provide Occupational Therapy services to school aged students. 
• Select and adapt the appropriate Occupational Therapy goals and IEP Development. 
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities. 
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
• Assess client’s home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and training in its use.
• Enter student/session data into SESIS. 

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist- School Setting

• Must be licensed in NYS as an Occupational Therapist. 
• Cannot be currently working for the Department of Education DOE. Candidates who are eligible for this position must be retired from the Department of Education for a minimum of 12 months.

Starting hourly rate $75.00+ per hour
