Apex Therapeutic Services is a primary provider of Related Services to hundreds of schools in the New York City Department of Education. We provide Occupational Therapists to schools across the 5 boroughs of New York City. For more specific caseload information please apply and our team will contact you right away for the 2023-2024 school year.
Only Apply if you are able to work within the 5 boroughs of NYC.
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist: School Setting-NYC DOE, Charter Schools, Public Schools
- Position will oversee full/partial caseloads.
- Provide Occupational Therapy services to school aged students.
- Select and adapt the appropriate Occupational Therapy goals and IEP Development.
- Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities.
- Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
- Assess client’s home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and training in its use.
- Enter student/session data into SESIS.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist- School Setting
- Must be licensed in NYS as an Occupational Therapist.
- Cannot be currently working for the Department of Education DOE. Candidates who are eligible for this position must be retired from the Department of Education for a minimum of 12 months.
