The student worker will support the Student Life Activities Board which is a student-driven organization dedicated to creating, planning, and executing campus-wide events to encourage a vibrant campus culture at Nevada State. In order to strengthen the university and progress its mission, the university dedicates itself to intentional and ongoing reflection to meeting the evolving needs of Nevada State University, the surrounding communities, and the State of Nevada.We seek applicants who are passionate about working with this promising student population and collaborating with faculty and staff across departments to make a lasting impact in developing our institution and our community.We encourage you to highlight your background in fostering an inclusive campus culture and supporting the success of students who are historically underrepresented in higher education.**Core Responsibilities:*** Help students feel welcome and connected to the Nevada State University community by planning large-scale and small-scale events and programming through the Office of Student life.* Track and manage an annual budget for the Student Life Activities Board.* Provide excellent communication and costumer service to any students or vendors inquiring about programs.* Meet one-on-one with Student Life Activities Board Advisor for check ins and professional development.* Maintain accurate records of receipts, invoices, and any purchase orders made for the year.* Provide a monthly report to the Nevada State Student Alliance on expenditures and event attendance.* Support in the creation of promotional items and marketing of all student life activities.* Help create post-attendance surveys to gather information and data to better provide a campus life experience at Nevada State.* Provide input on events effectiveness and suggest improvements based on mentee interactions and outcomes.* Work effectively with other Student Life and NSSA student workers, staff, and campus partners to ensure coordinated support for students.* Support Nevada State large scale events (Convocation, Commencement and other events).**Minimum Qualifications:*** Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.* Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).* Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.* Be creative and demonstrate personal initiative.* Willingness to create an engaging and robust campus life.* Flexible and open schedule availability for events/programs.**Please note:** Applicants must meet the posted minimum qualifications at the time of application in order to be considered for the position.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Previous experience working on campus.* Previous experience in a customer service-driven position.* Familiarity with BeEngaged.nevadastate.edu and how to maximize its value as an end-user.* Experience using Canva or other platforms for creating promotional items.**Work Hours:**This position will work 19.5 hours per week.Scheduled hours may be outside of the Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm office hours due to events/programs.**Hourly Rate:**$12.00 per hour.**Special Instructions for Internal NSHE Applicants**Nevada State University employees or employees within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE, UNLV, UNR, NSU, CSN, TMCC, WNC, GBC, or DRI) MUST use the “Browse Jobs” process within Workday to find and apply for jobs at Nevada State and other NSHE Institutions.
