Department Assistant

The Department Assistant works under the general supervision of the Manager. Job Duties are primarily scheduling and registering patients. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and ability to use effective interpersonal and teamwork skills when working with a variety of people and situations. Must be able to prioritize assignments independently and participate in every day problem solving. Must have quality orientation and be attentive to detail.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate/GED required. Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years secretarial experience required, preferably in a clinic setting.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Proficient in use of personal computer and word processing applications. Ability to effectively communicate with people.
