Full-Time Day Buyer (Purchasing / Procurement Associate) Pay: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour based upon related experience

JOB SUMMARY

Meet the procurement needs of the organization by effectively handling the acquisition and management of the highest quality goods and services at the lowest overall cost in a fair and equitable manner. Supportive of the Village mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Orders supplies and services to meet the needs of the Village Develops and manages relationships with suppliers to ensure that they provide high-quality products at competitive prices Returns merchandise to vendors when necessary. Follows up on the status of orders already placed and provides up-to-date information on them by checking with vendors. Makes recommendations to dispose or repair equipment. Maintains up-to-date procurement and inventory records. Reconciles and approves payment of vendor invoices. Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements. Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department. Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education High school education required. Knowledge and Skills Intermediate keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Intermediate skill using typical office equipment: copier, calculator, printer, scanner and pager. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively deal with difficult customers. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently to complete required reports, and interact with others. Ability to exhibit professionalism, tact and patience when communicating with others. Ability to interact effectively and empathetically with patients and their families. Experience One – three years purchasing experience preferred.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
