Lead Service Technician

The role is responsible is to assist the Facility Manager and/or Assistant Facility Manager in executing and maintaining a maintenance program that ensures the proper maintenance of the production equipment and facility. Operate as part of a team with the goal of meeting downtime and efficiency targets. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Vocational School Degree required; A minimum of 5 years’ general maintenance experience required; Knowledge/experience in repairing and troubleshooting high speed automated production equipment, HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and industrial electrical circuits; Knowledge in Operating electronic software, and Ammonia refrigeration basics; Computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: Perform the work outlined in work orders and the preventative maintenance program as assigned by the Service Supervisor; Write work orders when problems are found with facility or processing equipment; Evaluate and resolve problems on production and facility equipment during production and non-production hours while ensuring food safety; Assist the Facility Manager and/or Assistant Facility Manager in updating and posting the data and information on the maintenance software to keep work orders, spare parts inventory, vendor lists, and the preventative maintenance program current; Assist the Facility Manager in ordering and receiving parts; Supervise and train second shift Service Technician; Perform the basic duties of the Facility Manager or Assistant Facility Manager in their absence; Performs other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolong periods of standing 50% and sitting 50%; Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and climbing; ability to lift 50 pounds; and Ability to wear hearing protection and safety glasses occasionally.
