Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist - Fort Wayne, Indiana - Special Weekend Option Schedule: Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week) SWO Incentive Eligible. Department Expectations This is a hospital-based imaging position that will support a variety of diagnostic imaging needs, including: General radiology procedures Surgical imaging support Fluoroscopy procedures Preferred Experience Hospital-based imaging experience Surgical imaging experience Fluoroscopy experience Call Requirements Limited call rotation Primarily used for staffing call-offs and coverage needs No traditional after-hours call requirements, as the department will provide 24/7 coverage Additional Information Please note that this is a new facility, and schedules may evolve as operational needs become clearer following the hospital's opening. The schedule listed above reflects the anticipated hours at launch. Planned start dates for these positions are March 2027 . Team members will complete orientation and training prior to the facility opening on May 1, 2027 . Training may include rotations through: Ball Memorial Hospital Existing Fort Wayne outpatient locations The new Fort Wayne hospital department prior to opening These rotations are designed to provide exposure to a wide variety of procedures and patient populations that may not currently be available in local Fort Wayne outpatient settings. Most positions will participate in a rotating holiday schedule. Incentives Sign-on bonuses are available for qualified candidates. Job Duties, Tasks and Qualifications Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed. Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning. Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire. Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit. We are an equal opportunity employer.
