Barista

Job Overview We are looking for a highly motivated, customer‑focused individual to join our team as a Part‑Time Barista at the Starbucks kiosk STEAM located in the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. The role requires delivering friendly coffee bar service, suggestive selling, maintaining presentation standards, and ensuring bar cleanliness. Responsibilities Deliver world‑class customer service by taking orders, offering menu recommendations, and ensuring accurate delivery of food and beverages. Prepare Starbucks coffees and beverages accurately and on time. Process transactions (cash, credit card, and room charge) using the POS system. Complete all side work and opening/closing duties, including closing paperwork for the cashier. Maintain knowledge of the property and local events to answer guest inquiries. Greet guests with a smile, making them feel welcome at all times. Shift timings: Saturday & Sunday – 5:45am to 1:00pm; Friday & Saturday – 5:45am to 8:00pm. Nighttime availability and weekend/holiday work are required. Qualifications Six months of prior barista experience; Starbucks experience is a definite plus. Magnetic personality with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service. Outstanding communication skills, able to connect with guests effortlessly. Ability to thrive under pressure, turning hectic moments into opportunities to shine. Love for coffee and infectious enthusiasm for sharing knowledge with guests. Flexibility in scheduling to include early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation $12.00 – $12.25 per hour, based on skill level, experience, and certifications.
