Responsibilities

As an Art Therapist, you will use a wide range of artistic activities to improve physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and leisure functioning of patients. Together with clinical and residential rehabilitation, you will use a wide range of therapeutic activity and community-based interventions and techniques to improve the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and leisure functioning of patients. Work is full time during the weekdays, 7:30am-4:30pm. Work is performed at the clinic with some work at the residential site and in the community.

• After assessing patients, develops programs with measurable goals that incorporate specific abilities, tolerance, and interests into therapy to achieve optimal outcomes that transfer to real life situations.
• Organizes and facilitates individual and group art programs/projects for assigned patients to enable a greater quality of life.
• Develops and implements therapeutic interventions consistent with the patients' needs and interests
• Locates, develops, and stays current on clinical and community resources available to enhance patient programs and outcomes. Develops curriculum to enhance treatment.
• Develops and implements individualized home and community plans for the patients' residential program

Pay Range is $71,000 - $90,000

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Art, Art Therapy, Counseling, or healthcare-related field is required. Masters in Art Therapy is preferred
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 5 years of related work experience required. Certification in Recreational Therapy is desired. Eligibility to sit for certification and maintaining certification is required. Certification in Art Therapy through the Art Therapy Credentials Board is desired.
