About the Role

Picture this: your day starts behind the wheel of a cutting‑edge vehicle—sometimes before it reaches the public—navigating real roads to make sure everything works as intended. As a Pre‑Production Vehicle Evaluation Driver, you’ll translate road feel into actionable insights that improve quality, safety, and performance.

Day in the Life

On any given shift, you’ll be assigned a technically advanced pre‑production or production vehicle. You’ll drive designated routes, observe how systems behave in the real world, and log what you find. From powertrain responsiveness to build quality, from infotainment quirks to sensor behavior in bad weather—you evaluate it all and deliver a clear, concise report for each vehicle you drive.

Shifts

• 1st: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm
• 2nd: 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Shifts can run 8 – 10 hours.

What You’ll Tackle

• Conduct full‑vehicle evaluations on public roads and document findings for every assigned unit.
• Drive on prescribed routes for 8–10 hours while executing defined test procedures.
• Operate with an uncompromising safety mindset, adhering to all traffic laws and internal safety/security protocols.
• Maneuver oversized vehicles confidently and handle adverse weather conditions.

What You Bring

• 21+ years of age with a valid Michigan driver’s license held for at least 5 years.
• Clean driving record: no points; no major citations and/or accidents in the last 3 years; no DUI or DWAI.
• Comfort reading maps and using an I-Pad or tablet for routes and reporting.
• Stamina to drive for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability 3–5 days per week (5 preferred) with reliable attendance.
• Strong observational and communication skills—speak clearly and write legibly on report forms.
• Follow directions precisely, complete required training, and thrive in a team setting with a positive attitude.
