Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for Labor & Delivery requiring AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit on the 3rd floor of a main hospital campus
• 35-bed unit staffed with charge nurses, RNs, surgical techs, OR aide, transport tech, and secretarial support
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 2:1 for laboring patients, and 2:1 for APU and PACU
• Performs vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, PACU recovery, antepartum care/testing, and continuous electronic fetal monitoring
• Uses Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, Panda warmers, CADD Solis epidural pumps, and NOVI wireless fetal monitors
• Charts in CPN (Centricity) and Meditech EMR systems
• 13-week assignment with a 7a-7p shift schedule
• Unit includes a 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center for triage of pregnant patients
• 24/7 ancillary services available including Anesthesia, Neonatal, Laborist, and Hospitalist support

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience required
• OR circulation for cesarean sections preferred
• Experience with placement of FSE and IUPC preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Follows unit protocols for Pitocin, cervical ripening, magnesium sulfate, hydralazine, and labetalol administration
• Unit holds Baby Friendly Designation
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• One professional reference required for consideration
