Overview

A well-established, highly profitable regional CPA firm is seeking a Tax Partner to join its growing leadership team. With two partners retiring soon, the firm is looking for an experienced tax professional—whether an existing Partner, Tax Director, or Tax Senior Manager from another firm—who can step into a leadership role, help manage the Bremerton office, and bring significant trust and estate tax expertise to the practice.

What you'll do

• Oversee all services rendered to clients in accounting, tax, and management advisory functions
• Review and sign off on tax returns
• Participate in recruiting, training, retention, and utilization of accounting staff, including campus recruiting efforts
• Interview candidates, extend offers, and evaluate accounting staff for promotion and salary decisions
• Maintain technical competence through professional literature, publications, and continuing education
• Develop new business by expanding services to existing clients, pursuing prospective clients, and maintaining relationships with bankers, attorneys, and investment bankers
• Help establish and monitor annual training programs for professional staff at various levels
• Ensure continuity in staff assignments
• Counsel accounting staff on grievances, professional development, and career progress
• Participate in firm practice development efforts and various internal committees
• Support compliance guidelines and promote efficient firm operations
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Partner
• Lead development, coaching, and training of all tax employees
• Understand qualifications of all tax staff to guide their training and development
• Participate in staff reviews, compensation decisions, and evaluations

Required qualifications

• 10 to fifteen years of experience in public accounting, with proven progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Master’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of forty (40) hours of continuing professional education required each year
• Current and valid CPA license required

Preferred qualifications

• Generalist tax experience with significant exposure to estate and trust tax preferred
