On-Call Nephrologist Opportunity
Resolution Think is seeking an On-Call Nephrologist to provide intermittent, remote backup coverage in support of military medical operations at Nellis Air Force Base. This role is designed to supplement the full-time nephrologist when they are unavailable due to TDY, leave, or other absences, helping ensure continuity of care for beneficiaries served by the medical treatment facility.

Position Overview
The primary mode of performance for this role is remote on-call availability. Contract personnel are not required to be on-site at the MOMMC unless specifically requested. The selected physician will provide telephonic or virtual nephrology consultation during scheduled on-call periods and must be prepared to report in person if medically necessary.
Schedule and Coverage
- Coverage schedules will be provided at least 30 days in advance.
- The on-call group must cover a minimum of two full weekends per month.
- A full weekend is defined as the 48-hour period from Saturday at 0700 through Monday at 0700.
- The projected workload is approximately 182 coverage days per year.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote nephrology consultation to MTF staff during scheduled on-call periods.
- Respond to calls typically lasting 1015 minutes, covered under the on-call rate.
- Be available to report to the MTF within 60 minutes if in-person evaluation is required.
- If activated onsite, perform daily reassessment and reevaluation until care is completed.
- Continue care until the patient is discharged, the case is signed off, or care is transferred back to the government nephrologist.
- When in-person services are required, the on-call Nephrologist will provide in-house physical coverage for evaluation of current and new patients requiring services.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Education: Awarded degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
- Experience: Must have been employed in the practice of Nephrology or in an accredited training program for 24 of the last 36 months. Must have experience working in inpatient and outpatient in Nephrology to include management of patients undergoing chronic dialysis.
- Residency/Fellowship: Completion of ABIM recognized internal medicine residency acceptable to the Defense Health Agency, as verified by submission of certificate to MOMMC Credentials Office. Completion of an additional fellowship program in nephrology, which is acceptable to the Defense Health Agency, is mandatory.
- Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support): Shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) (Course C) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). BLS/ACLS certifications must be through the American Heart Association or a Red Cross.
- Board Certification: Current board certification or board eligible in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
- Licensure: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Medical License to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.
