Receiving Specialist

Job Description

Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a receiving clerk position at a company in New Milford CT. The receiving clerk verifies and maintains records on incoming shipments. This is a temp-to-hire position.

The hours are 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $18 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Examine content and compare with the records to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
• Receive material in and enter information in customer's system such as SAP or WhiBoard
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route material
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
• Check product for damages/issues and take pictures of damaged product
• Print labels and relabel, if applicable
• Assist with other employees and areas in the department as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Shipping and receiving experience
• Able to handle physical aspects of job, including lifting 50 lbs.
• Computer skills
• Read, write and speak English
• Knowledge and ability to work with bar code scanner is preferred
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) knowledge is preferred
• Food Safety and Defense/HAACP knowledge is preferred
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings
