Medical Scheduler

Duration: 12-week assignment with potential for permanency

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to support patient scheduling, registration, and front office operations in a busy medical office. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and staff while ensuring appointments, referrals, and authorizations are handled accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new, referral, and follow-up patient appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately.
• Register patients and update demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed.
• Collect co-pays and other patient payments.
• Coordinate testing, procedures, surgeries, and follow-up appointments when applicable.
• Maintain scheduling templates and provider calendars.
• Support front office operations and ensure patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1- 3 years experience in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, referrals, insurance verification, or EMR systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Silver Spring, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
