EHS Technician

Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The day to day:

1. Implements, and monitors company EHS technical administrative tasks, programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
2. Keeps EHS equipment, performs periodic EHS inspections, safety walks, 5S walks
3. Interacts with a variety of departments, and supports customer initiatives.
4. Assists EHS Engineers with compliance activities and maintains liaison with appropriate customers.
5. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.
6. Coordinates, reviews and monitors non-routine work activities that have the potential to impact operations, the environment, or health & safety.

• Ensures high hazard work activities are executed in conformance to company policies including validating worker competency.

• Coordinates and delivers site safety training as assigned
• Conducts EHS inspections, assessments, and audits to identify safety compliance or conformance issues, following Wolfspeed policy criteria and evaluation processes.
• Maintains required records for safety training, safety inspections, and other EHS tasks.

This job is right for you if you have (minimum requirements):

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in environment, health or safety
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in EHS
• Broad familiarity with hazards associated with industrial and process chemicals, chemical operations, and chemical distribution systems.
• Broad familiarity with high hazard prevention programs
• Experience conducting incident evaluations to identify root cause (structured problem solving).
• Experience delivering safety training, documenting completion and possessing the ability to resonate confidence in the trained that the training materials are well understood.
• Fluency in the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented individual.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations for general industry and/or construction.
• Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Office

Preferences:

• Experience with industrial hazardous waste management including DOT shipping
• Experience in the semiconductor manufacturing operations.

The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual's job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compensation range:

$25.60 - $35.20
