Job Title: General Laborer / Painter
Job Description

This role combines general labor support with painting responsibilities in a plant environment. You will assist the full-time labor team with a variety of tasks and focus on painting interior plant walls, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities. The position requires hands-on skills, comfort with basic tools and equipment, and the ability to handle physical work throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist the full-time labor team with general plant maintenance and support tasks.
• Prepare walls and surfaces for painting, including basic cleaning and paint prep activities.
• Apply paint to interior plant walls using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve a clean, even finish.
• Perform odds-and-ends tasks as needed to support daily operations and facility upkeep.
• Use small step stools or small ladders safely to reach elevated areas during painting and maintenance work.
• Lift and carry materials, tools, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds as part of daily duties.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure work is completed on time.

• At least 1 year of painting experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
• Demonstrated ability to perform painting tasks, including paint application and basic paint prep.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with basic tools and equipment in a plant environment.
• Comfort working at heights using small step stools or small ladders.
• Reliability to work a consistent schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with most days ending around 3:00 p.m.).
• Ability to perform general building and facilities maintenance tasks as needed.

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities maintenance.
• Background in paint shop work or paint application in an industrial or plant setting.
• Flexibility to take on miscellaneous tasks and adapt to changing daily priorities.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure neat, high-quality paint finishes.

You will join a hands-on, supportive team where your practical skills and work ethic are valued every day. The role offers consistent daytime hours, with many days ending earlier than scheduled, supporting a healthy work-life balance. You will gain experience in a plant environment, build your maintenance and painting skills, and contribute directly to keeping the facility clean, safe, and well maintained.

Work Environment

This position is based in a plant environment that is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. You will work on-site during a daytime shift from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with most days ending around 3:00 p.m. The role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working on small step stools or small ladders to reach higher areas. You will use basic maintenance and painting tools, operate in an active industrial setting, and follow standard safety practices appropriate for a plant facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Britton, MI.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Britton,MI.
