Medical Director

DEPARTMENT: Vanderburgh County Health Department STATUS: Part-time SALARY: TBD REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Health Officer; works closely with the Health Administrator and departmental leadership Provide day-to-day medical leadership across departmental programs and services. Supervise and support clinical services delivered by the Department and its partners. Ensure programs operate in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. Serve as a clinical resource for staff and division leaders. 2. Departmental Operations and Improvement Work collaboratively with division directors to strengthen and improve existing programs. Evaluate departmental programs using key performance indicators and recommend improvements, prioritization, or expansion. Support implementation of the Department’s strategic plan through operational execution. Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 3. Policy Implementation and Technical Expertise Provide medical and scientific input into policies, procedures, and protocols. Assist with development and review of public health initiatives, emergency preparedness, and response activities. Stay current on emerging public health trends, clinical guidelines, and regulatory changes. 4. Internal Collaboration and Communication Maintain close working relationships with the Health Officer and Health Administrator. Provide regular updates on program performance, operational challenges, and resource needs. Participate in internal leadership meetings and planning efforts. #J-18808-Ljbffr
