It involves radiation detection to examine internal organ function and structure, with responsibilities that include patient care and laboratory work. The position requires broad operational knowledge and may involve training entry‑level employees and leading daily operations. Job Overview Perform nuclear medicine procedures on assigned patients according to department policies and ACR imaging standards. Operate independently, collaborate with other services, and serve as a clinical/technical resource for students and technologists. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Radiology or related field Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTCB) or ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technologist state license (eligible) Two years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Basic Life Support Certification Duties and Responsibilities Independently perform nuclear medicine procedures according to policy and radiological standards Verify patients and procedures to be performed Provide clear instructions to patients Confirm and perform correct imaging protocols and scanner parameters Ensure safety for patients and staff with equipment used Participate in ongoing education and training Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required Coordinate patient care with other staff and departments Maintain supply stock and request orders when necessary Keep work areas clean and functional in accordance with DPH and The Joint Commission Train and educate students and technologists on proper procedures and techniques Physical Requirements Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting 30‑35 lbs Manual dexterity for operating radiology equipment Hearing and visual acuity sufficient for examinations, reading monitors and documents, and hearing equipment alarms Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases Skills & Abilities Knowledge of radiologic equipment, examinations, and procedures Knowledge of radiation safety protocols Very good communication skills Very good customer service skills Ability to organize and set priorities Ability to work independently Training and education skills Pay Range $44.17 – $56.32 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr Tufts Medicine
