Pay: $19.50/hour
Location: Remote (United States)
Type: Contract (full-time)
Schedule: Must be available for 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM–8:00 PM ET (Mon–Fri) (shift assigned based on business needs)

Overview

We’re seeking a Remote Medical Billing Specialist (Inbound Patient Account Services Specialist) to support patients by answering billing questions and helping them navigate reimbursement and payment options. This is a customer-focused role in a fast-paced call center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with billing and reimbursement questions; help guide them through next steps
• Build rapport through clear, empathetic, professional phone communication
• Handle difficult or emotional situations calmly and with urgency when appropriate
• Accurately document each interaction in the appropriate revenue cycle system
• Research concerns, determine eligibility for payment plans, and complete follow-ups as needed
• Meet performance metrics related to call volume and call quality
• Collaborate with internal teams using phone, email, and other tools/technology

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement, collections, and/or infusion services
• 1+ year experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel )
• Strong written/verbal communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to demonstrate empathy and provide emotional support when needed
• High school diploma or GED (verifiable)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in healthcare billing/collections and/or infusion services
• 1+ year experience in pharmacy billing and reimbursement
