Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location

Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (up to 5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and operate patient lift equipment including Skylift
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure applicable to the state of North Carolina
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Neuro and trauma care experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a progressive care or stepdown setting
• Experience with chest tubes, lumbar drains, and tracheostomy care
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
