Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN ensures compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. They foster a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with United Health Services policy.
• Ensure productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance Model, unit council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices.
• Engage in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practices into care delivery.
• Support learning for new employees and students.
• Adhere to United Health Services values and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Six months to three years of nursing experience.
• Five or more years of direct experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.
