Altius Talent is representing a logistics provider seeking a disciplined and customer-focused Dispatch Supervisor to support port drayage operations in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for coordinating drivers, customers, port pickups, deliveries, and empty container returns while maintaining service accuracy, cost control, and operational visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage port pickups, customer deliveries, and empty returns within free time requirements.
• Act as the operational link between customers, drivers, internal teams, terminals, and relevant service providers.
• Communicate with customers and drivers by phone, email, and in person, ensuring clear, timely, and professional responses.
• Maintain strong inbox discipline, including prompt response handling, accurate follow-up, and clean email workflow management.
• Keep accurate records of customer interactions, dispatch updates, driver activity, and service exceptions.
• Monitor active loads, identify potential service failures, and escalate operational risks before they affect the customer.
• Adapt quickly to last-minute changes, including appointment adjustments, driver availability, port delays, equipment issues, and delivery changes.
• Support process improvements across dispatch, driver coordination, customer communication, and operational execution.
• Work independently while managing multiple priorities in a time-sensitive logistics environment.
• Perform additional operational and administrative duties as required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of dispatch operations experience, preferably involving the Port of Houston.
• Prior drayage, container, trucking, or intermodal dispatch experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Profit Tools preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
