Construction Safety Intern (Summer 2026)

Job Summary Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking a Construction Safety Intern for our summer 2026 program. The Safety Intern assists with implementing site‑specific safety programs, monitoring work for regulatory compliance, conducting safety inspections and participating in safety training and recordkeeping. Key responsibilities include developing procedures, reviewing work plans, investigating incidents, and performing audits to ensure a safe working environment. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in common office software, and often involves travel to various construction sites. This is a paid, full‑time internship that will last for 11 weeks (May 18th – July 31st). Job Duties May Include Attend safety meetings to remain involved in project progress and safety matters, as appropriate. Help enforce government and company regulations to ensure associate and subcontractor compliance by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues. Review documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures. Assist with the development and implementation of job‑specific safety plans. Schedule jobsite visits and safety audits. Research new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). Accompany safety professionals on job site inspections. Help conduct work‑area inspections and assist in personal injury and property damage investigations. Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.). Strong planning and multitasking skills. Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and professionalism. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
