Facilities Electrician - Telecommunications

Job Description
Platform Solutions is seeking a Facilities Electrician Telecommunications. The manufacturing performs a variety of skilled electricians duties involving the tasks below:

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems. This includes receptacles, switches, facility lighting, motors, panelboards, switchgear, transformers, and building automation systems.
• Lay out, install, terminate, and test structured copper and fiber-optic cabling networks. You will maintain communication paths, drop locations, and update detailed cable run sheets.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on Standby Power Systems, including Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and backup emergency generators.
• Maintain and troubleshoot building life-safety and infrastructure components, such as fire alarm panels, secure access control hardware, CCTV cameras, and cleanroom environmental controls.
• Read, interpret, and work from complex architectural schematics, facility layouts, system installation drawings, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
• Support and maintain numerous communications systems.
• Telephone/Network administrator.
• Structured cabling installer maintainer.
• Act as site point of contact with external vendors.
• Work independently with minimal direction.
• Provide on-call 24x7 escalation support for emergencies and critical events.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education:

• High School Diploma or GED paired with formal technical or trade school training.
  

Experience:

• Generally, requires 4 to 7+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or military facility maintenance.
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA guidelines, and operations of aerial lifts or forklifts.
• Operation and Maintenance of Yard Telecommunications Infrastructure.
• Connection and Disconnection of Yard Telecommunication Infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting and Repair of Electrical Circuitry.
• Troubleshooting and Repair of Transformers (600V & less).
• Layout and Read Electrical Blueprints/Schematics.
• Layout and Install Conduit/Electrical Equipment to NEC Standard.
• Testing/Repair of Temp Service Equipment.
• Connection/Disconnection of Electrical Equipment.
• Connection/Disconnection of Vessel's Shore Power.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• An active Journeyman or Master Electrician License is standard for electrical designations. Certifications in fiber optic termination or low-voltage systems are highly desired.

Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
