Dispatcher

Transportation Dispatcher We are looking for a dependable and attentive Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, can manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable making decisions while keeping service moving. Our dispatchers work closely with drivers, customers, call center staff, and other members of the operations team to make sure scheduled and on-demand trips are handled as efficiently as possible. The job requires more than simply sending trips to drivers. Dispatchers must actively monitor service, recognize potential problems, communicate clearly, and make adjustments when needed. Responsibilities include: Dispatch and monitor scheduled and on-demand transportation trips. Coordinate with drivers to help ensure timely pickups and reliable service. Monitor open, upcoming, and delayed trips and take appropriate action when issues arise. Make routing and dispatch decisions based on location, timing, availability, and service needs. Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, call takers, supervisors, and management. Identify potential service problems before they become larger issues. Assist with changes, delays, cancellations, and other situations that may affect a trip. Accurately document trip information and actions taken. Use multiple computer systems, communication platforms, and phone lines throughout the shift. Work as part of a team while also being able to make sound decisions independently. Strong attention to detail is important, as small details can have a significant impact on transportation service. Candidates should be comfortable communicating with different personalities, solving problems, and adjusting priorities as situations change. We are looking for someone who takes initiative and does not simply wait to be told when something needs attention. Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, call center, customer service, or similar experience is helpful, but we are also open to candidates who demonstrate strong judgment, computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to learn.
