Director, Risk Management

Risk Management DirectorResponsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks that could potentially affect the organization. This role involves leading risk management activities to ensure that risks across all areas of Sentara are properly managed. Works closely with senior leadership to develop risk management strategies and provide insights into risk mitigation activities to safeguard the company's assets, reputation, and operations.Education:Bachelors Degree (Required)5 year's experience required in a healthcare clinical setting (Quality Improvement, Patient Care, Healthcare Leadership, Claims management, or Patient Safety)Responsibilities:Plan, organize, communicate, evaluate and implement Sentara's Clinical Risk Management programRespond, investigate, report, and follow-up on concerns related to clinical care and services provided across Sentara to improve quality of care and reduce potential and actual professional liability claims through early resolutionAssist with ongoing compliance with other standards and guidelines of healthcare regulatory agenciesLead efforts in identifying and evaluating various types of risks, including financial, operational, compliance and reputationalLead the response to risk-related incidentsMonitor and report on risk management activitiesLead and mentor risk management professionalsAct as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding risk-related mattersSentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is home to the region's only Level III Trauma Center.
