Experienced Dental Assistant Heck Family Dentistry Lawrence, KS Full-Time | $22–$25 per hour Heck Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our busy practice, work well with a large team, and help the day run smoothly. Schedule (Full-Time, No evenings or Weekends!) Option 1: Mondays 8am-5pm, Tuesdays 7am-4pm, Thursdays 7am-4pm, Fridays 8am-5pm. There will be a need for Wednesdays 7-4 anywhere from 0-3 times a month. Option 2: Currently Tuesday-Thursday 7:00 - 4:00 and Fridays 8:00 - 5:00. Starting on 8/24/26 the schedule will change to Mondays 8:00 - 5:00 with Tuesdays-Thursdays 7:00 - 4:00 Pay And Benefits $22–$26 per hour, based on experience Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life and disability options 401(k) with match PTO and holidays Why This Role Is a Strong Fit Full-time position with a set weekly schedule Established Lawrence dental practice Fast-paced clinical environment Large, team-oriented office Opportunity to work with a wide range of procedures Strong focus on patient comfort, especially for anxious patients Modern practice with advanced dental technology Supportive team that values professionalism, communication, and follow-through What You’ll Do Assist doctors during a variety of dental procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment Support anxious patients with a calm, reassuring, and professional approach Take dental x-rays as needed Maintain clean, stocked, and organized operatories Follow infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards Accurately document clinical notes Help the clinical team stay on schedule Communicate clearly with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and front office team members Jump in where needed to support the flow of a busy practice What We’re Looking For Prior Dental Assistant experience required Comfortable working in a fast-paced dental office Strong chairside assisting skills Excellent patient communication skills Calm, confident, and compassionate with high-anxiety patients Reliable, organized, and able to stay focused during a busy day Team-first attitude Ability to work well with a larger clinical and administrative team Professional, dependable, and ready to contribute Experience with sedation dentistry, implants, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, emergency dentistry, or advanced restorative procedures is a plus.
