Aerospace Product Engineer

330 Blaisdell Rd, Orangeburg, NY 10962, USA Position Overview The Engineer supports technical/production and process/product development for aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems. This role reports to the Non-Repair Engineering Manager and requires onsite work in Orangeburg, NY. Remote/hybrid work is not available. Key Responsibilities Self-starter who works effectively in a dynamic team environment. Develop robust manufacturing processes meeting schedule, cost, and performance requirements. Apply special processes such as thermal spray, EBPVD, diffusion coatings, platings, welding, machining, laser, EDM, heat treatment, braze, chemical cleaning, and stripping. Ensure processes and products meet quality and operational objectives. Publish technical reports and develop work instructions, operator training materials. Lead problem‑solving teams and conduct RCCAs on equipment and process issues. Assist in troubleshooting equipment and processes. Recommend and implement process or equipment changes to improve safety, quality and productivity. Support new program launches and accept new processes; monitor quality and productivity results and react to problems. Participate in and lead design reviews with process and repair development engineers. Train less experienced team members. Qualifications Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred; other accredited disciplines considered. 2+ years of experience in design, manufacturing or repair engineering. Experience in the aerospace industry preferred. Knowledge of gas turbine manufacturing and repair processes preferred. Familiarity with FAA guidelines for PMA and RS‑DER requirements and compliance testing highly desirable. Experience with NADCAP or similar industrial quality certifications a plus. Experience with high temperature material systems preferred. Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, design thinking methodologies a plus.
