We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to join our home healthcare team as a Clinical Specialist . This position provides hands-on respiratory care, education, and support to patients receiving therapy in their homes.

The Clinical Specialist works closely with patients, caregivers, physicians, referral sources, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive safe, effective respiratory therapy and understand how to properly use their prescribed equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist who enjoys working independently, building relationships with patients, and providing one-on-one clinical care outside of the traditional hospital setting.

What You'll Do

• Set up respiratory therapy equipment in patients' homes and provide thorough instruction to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Perform initial and follow-up clinical assessments according to physician orders.
• Monitor patients' response to respiratory therapy and communicate clinical findings to physicians and referral sources as appropriate.
• Review prescriptions and patient information to determine treatment requirements and necessary precautions.
• Inspect and test respiratory equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Adjust equipment within prescribed parameters to help achieve optimal therapy results.
• Educate patients and caregivers on respiratory conditions, disease management, prescribed therapies, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, progress reports, equipment checklists, and discharge information.
• Coordinate and schedule patient follow-up visits.
• Consult with physicians regarding patient concerns, adverse reactions, or changes in condition.
• Provide respiratory care education and in-service training to branch staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain knowledge of current respiratory therapies, equipment, clinical policies, and industry standards.
• Assist with respiratory and clinical equipment inventory as needed.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Represent the company professionally with patients, referral sources, healthcare professionals, and the community.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current NBRC credential as a CRT or RRT
• Current respiratory therapy license or credential as required by the state
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
• Ability to travel by vehicle to patients' homes, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities
• Ability to carry and move respiratory equipment

Preferred:

• Two (2) years of hospital or critical care respiratory therapy experience
• One (1) year of home healthcare experience

Schedule & On-Call

This position requires participation in on-call coverage and may include after-hours assignments. Depending on patient and branch needs, 24-hour on-call availability may be required.
