Role Description The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across Sand Companies, Inc.’s multifamily and hospitality portfolio. This is a full-time, or part time hybrid role based in St Cloud, MN, with flexibility to work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing operational, financial, and safety risks, maintaining risk registers, and developing risk mitigation strategies and policies. The Risk Manager will coordinate insurance coverage, oversee claims management, legal initiatives, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk controls. Additional duties include preparing risk reports for leadership, supporting incident investigations, and recommending improvements to processes and systems to reduce exposure. Qualifications Experience in risk management, legal, insurance, or related fields within real estate, construction, property management, or hospitality. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and propose practical risk mitigation strategies. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to multifamily housing and hospitality operations. Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn risk or claims management systems. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present findings to leadership. Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., ARM, CRM) are a plus.
