Acute Care Physical Therapist PRN

Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with the inter-disciplinary treatment team. Documents patients seen.

Essential Functions:

• Plans physical therapy program for each patient based on functional, timed, measurable and objective goals while safely using modalities and appropriate exercise or other interventions as indicated.
• Applies diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education and functional training using pulleys, weights, steps, inclined surfaces, assistive devices and other functional aide equipment devices.
• Ability to function in a healthcare team and communicate effectively in a positive, professional manner with patients, physicians and various interdisciplinary team members.
• Provides written instructions and therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient and/or caregiver.
• Ability to utilize electronic medical record documentation/charge systems to effectively evaluate, record, and report on patient progress for review by other members of the rehabilitation team.
• Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as assigned.

Must be licensed in the State of South Carolina and possess a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Current CPR Certification. Some experience is preferred but not required. DPT preferred but not required.
