The right RT should have 1 year recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements. Responsibilities Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients. Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation. Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories; evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to the director. Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines. Collaborate with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients being treated. Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support. Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds when needed. Have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience. BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP may be required in some areas. NBRC certification and 2 years of experience assumed; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs when moving patients.
