Key Responsibilities

• Medication Administration:

• Administer medications per established policies and procedures.

• Order and maintain medication stock, ensuring inventory levels remain within limits.

• Reconcile daily medication deliveries from the pharmacy and distribute them to appropriate storage areas. Rotate stock and return outdated medications as required.

• Medical Records and Coordination:

• File completed Medication Administration Records (MARs) in patient charts.

• Notify the pharmacy of inmate transfers or releases.

• Specimen Collection and Infection Control:

• Collect and handle specimens as ordered, adhering to Universal Precaution and Infection Control procedures.

• Assist with PPD implantation, result reading, and documentation.

• Patient Care Support:

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient care, including emergency screenings with RNs to prioritize physician visits.

• Provide CPR when needed, maintaining annual certification.

• Facility Maintenance and Other Duties:

• Clean, sterilize, and secure medical equipment.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Key Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum of one year in emergency or correctional services preferred.

• Certification: Valid Medical Assistant Certification is required.

• Screening: Background check, security clearance, and drug screening mandatory.
