Patient Care SpecialistThe Patient Care Specialist position at Georgia Southern University Health Services contributes to student health and well-being through care coordination, patient navigation, and clinical and administrative support.Coordinate patient intake activities, appointment scheduling, collection and management of medical records, and referrals to promote timely access to care and continuity of care. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and institutional policies. Document patient interactions and care coordination activities accurately in the electronic health record. Support providers and clinical staff by facilitating patient communication and ensuring necessary documentation is available for patient care. Connect patients with appropriate campus and community resources based on identified needs. Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and other administrative processes that facilitate patient care.Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Required Experience: One (1) year Experience working in healthcare and/or community resource navigation.Completion of all courses of accredited CMA, RMA, or EMT program. Experience using an electronic health records system. Experience providing care management services. One (1) or more years of experience in medical assisting.$19.15 - $23.97 per hour.
