BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

Job Location: Hauppauge, NY 11788 Salary Range: $27.18 - $29.74 hourly Position Overview UCP Long Island is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to supporting individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. This role seeks a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Behavior Intervention Specialist for our Residential program. Responsibilities Evaluate each individual served based on the results of the appropriate tests. Administer appropriate annual tests to determine consumer needs, completing full assessment as part of the annual plan of care. Conduct triennial testing per NY State guidelines to establish IQ score. Participate in the development of written, detailed, specific, individualized program plans that maximize each resident's development and acquisition of skills. Goals must be measurable, specify therapeutic steps, assign staff responsibilities, set time frames, and be evaluated monthly and quarterly to remain compliant with state and federal regulations. Serve as an interdisciplinary treatment team member: participate in weekly IDT meetings at each residence, annual/interim meetings, special IDT meetings, and staff meetings. Provide hands‑on training to direct support staff and conduct on‑site and agency in‑service training. Review all treatment plans. Obtain knowledge of and assist in implementation of all applicable ICF regulations. Maintain contact with all psychological therapeutic personnel involved with individuals, providing behavioral information and feedback to psychiatric services providers. Perform duties under direct supervision of the Psychology Supervisor and the QIDP. Qualifications Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or 4–10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. M.A. degree in Applied Psychology from an accredited training program including internship (school, clinical, counseling, educational).
