In this dynamic contract opportunity near Roscoe, IL, spearhead learning for 4th and 5th grade students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in English Language Arts. This full-time position is designed for a passionate educator ready to make a meaningful daily impact by delivering engaging instruction and supporting diverse learning needs in an inclusive setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 certification is required
- Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with elementary-aged students
- Strong understanding of differentiated ELA instruction and IEP implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering social, emotional, and academic growth for all learners
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, modify, and deliver individualized ELA lessons for 4th and 5th grade students according to IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to ensure student needs are supported
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing documentation of student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation and revision of student goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement, independence, and self-advocacy
- Support students with accommodations, modifications, and behavioral strategies as needed
