Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Unit Mainland - Part Time Job ID #07-38078 Location Pomona, New Jersey, United States Position Summary The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The RN uses the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The RN is responsible for coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and ensuring consistency with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to identify problems, set goals, implement interventions, and assess effectiveness. Responsibilities • Conduct assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with nursing standards and institutional policies. • Perform limited laboratory services: specimen collection, processing, quality control, instrument maintenance, and reporting results. • Support performance improvement initiatives and provide leadership to the patient care team. • Participate in educational activities and maintain professional and personal growth. Certification & Licensure Registered Nurse licensed in New Jersey or multi‑state license. BLS required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; non‑BSN RNs must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years. Valid New Jersey driver’s license required for Adult and Child Partial Programs. ACLS, ATCN, PALS or ENPC, and CCRN/ CGRN certifications required as specified for each unit. Current staff must obtain CPI by 6/30/24; new hires must obtain within 6 months. Experience & Requirements 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years critical care experience preferred for ICU units. Experience in telemetry, emergency room, and operating room preferred for specific units. Required emergency room, ICU, OR, PACU, radiology, and oncology experience varies by unit; see unit sections. Unit‑Specific Requirements Emergency Room 2 years medical/surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Intensive Care Unit / CTICU 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years critical care experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. CCRN preferred. Cardiovascular ICU (CVU) 2 years critical care experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. CCRN preferred. Heart & Vascular Unit (HVU) 2 years telemetry experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. 3 Harbor (PCU) 2 years telemetry experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Operating Room Medical/surgical and operating room experience preferred. All new OR team members must scrub within six months of orientation. ACLS required by 12/31/24 for all RNs. CNOR preferred. PACU / Same Day Surgery / Recovery Room Critical care or PACU experience required. ACLS required at time of hire. PALS required within 6 months of hire. Intervention Radiology 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Interventional and critical care experience preferred. ACLS required at time of hire. PALS required within 1 year of hire. Cath Lab & Electrophysiology Critical care, emergency room, cath‑lab or telemetry experience preferred. ACLS required at time of hire. 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. PALS, CCRN, and CGRN preferred. Radiation / Oncology Oncology experience preferred. OCN preferred. Medical Oncology Infusion Services Oncology experience preferred. ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy competency required within 6 months of hire. OCN preferred. Structural Heart 2 years’ experience in cardiology. Ability to perform EKG and IV insertion. ACLS required at time of hire. Performance Expectations Demonstrates the ability to perform department‑specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Work Environment Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, infectious disease, hazardous substances, and possible injury. Requires reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching, extensive standing and walking including stairs. Requires lifting 25–50 pounds frequently and 50–100 pounds with assistance occasionally. Requires pushing and pulling heavy equipment.
