Senior Software Engineer - Network Automation

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need knowledge in one or more infrastructure engineering domains such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessment.
• We need deep expertise in multiple infrastructure technologies and scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript, YAML, JSON, or Bash.
• We need strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to operate across and migrate between public and private clouds.
• We need experience with on-premises and remote data center technologies and operations.
• We need strong experience with several operating system and hypervisor platforms, such as Hyper-V, ESXi, KVM, VMware, and OpenShift.
• We need experience in infrastructure automation, optimization, and observability.
• We need demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security expectations.
• We need experience deploying and using telemetry tools to improve visibility in service offerings.
• We need solid knowledge of public cloud technologies, including AWS or Azure on Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
• Preferred experience includes working knowledge of 40/100/400G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM, and optical transport network technologies.
• Preferred experience includes understanding optics and switch ASIC internals.
• Preferred experience includes configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS, RSVP-TE, and IS-IS, plus knowledge of TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, proxies, and IPv4/IPv6.
• Preferred experience includes knowledge of physical infrastructure design, including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling.
• Preferred experience includes understanding network hardware platforms and their specifications in the datacenter environment.

• We apply deep technical expertise and structured problem-solving to analyze complex data and systems, anticipate issues, and reduce risk.
• We collaborate with other platforms to architect and implement changes needed to resolve issues and modernize our technology processes.
• We are responsible for infrastructure engineering in line with business requirements.
• We drive results and deliver multiple complex programs.
• We provide thought leadership within the product line.
• We contribute actively to the engineering community as advocates for our firmwide software development life cycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
